 Good for quick composting September 7, 2010

After reading everything here and taking a class on composting, I was a little hesitant on how well this would work. I am happy to say I am pleased with how well and how fast it worked. I just bought this composter a month ago because our City had a $75 rebate if we took the class. I threw in the 75% brown and 25% green and here it is a month later and I the compost is good to go. Yes, the corn cobs and sticks I threw in are still visible, but because I turn it twice a week and water it once a week, I already have useable compost to put on my lawn. I felt it went together easily, I find it easy to use (I took the advice of other users and only filled it 3/4 full.) I would recommend it.

The Achla Composter is a great Canadian made product, that I bought on a special for under $130. I bought the composter based on other reviews in which most people rated it very high for quality and value. The barrel is made of thick recycled black roto-molded plastic, with galvanized frame and legs. The door gives easy access to loading the unit, with grooves for easy rolling of the barrel. Assembly takes only minutes but found it a little difficult to line up the bolts where the frame attaches to the barrel rod. I bought two of these units in order that I rotate composting. I have the first unit fairly loaded with non meat only to limit odors. So far works great but would use wood chips or dried leaves to keep water content down. I would highly recomend this product as it is by far the best value,does not stand out in yard, and simply does a great job!

This product is not designed well. Have been using it for about 10 months and have gotten nothing good out of the thing. I got more from using a plastic trash can. Now, I only have grass clippings and rain water is getting into it. What a stinky mess I have on my hands. I'm going to try and make some modifications to keep the water out.

Very Sturdy! Easy to use. Works GREAT! The plastic is very heavy duty, I think I will have this composter for many years to come. I LOVE IT!!!! I would recommend this product to anyone.

This is easy to put together. So far I love it. My plan is to buy another one to have one cooking and one to add too. The built in hand holds make this really easy to spin. So far I'm thrilled with it.
