First one to buy & it worked like a charm March 7, 2010 Majed (UAE) Everything started when I wanted to upgrade my PS3 HD, started with the blue screw which now is colorless and ended with using it for the rest. Although the proper screw drivers were used all the screws got scrapped. By the way this is not the first time I had to remove a HD on a PC or Laptop as I had professional experience in the field.
First you will need the right Drill and a firm grip. For me I used Black & Decker 12v [Bought Locally], full speed at level 1. Be careful there when dealing with electronics, more power doesn't necessarily means better it might cause more issues. You just need to unscrew not to drill the case and the HD with it!
The blue one was the easier to remove but the rest were somewhat challenging as it required it firmly grip, a little force pushing the drill into the screw. Moreover make sure that the head is correctly in place and centered, it doesn't move left or right.
If there isn't any metallic shards flying around then you are not doing it right. I had a friend to assist with the process as two hands were not sufficient when it comes to removing the small ones, unless you have proper tools for that.
Note that I have only used the smallest head and the side that looks like x. Furthermore please read the instructions for both the device and the extractor set, it is behind the picture. Yeah and don't think about reusing the screws.
As for the packaging and the delivery everything was fine and on time. Price wise I seriously didn't car as the priority was the Job.
Great product February 26, 2010 M. Bisson (CA) Works as advertised. Removed the allen head bolts. Need to go slow and read instructions.
Alden Grabit Broken Bolt and Damaged February 11, 2010 G. C. Gagnon This Grabit tool worked as advertised. Just follow the instructions and remove the damaged screw like it was removed from butter. Highly recommend it.
Junk February 11, 2010 Sean Harris (Doral, Florida, US) This item is a piece of junk. After numerous tries to actually remove damaged screws i threw them away.
Work or Not January 31, 2010 deantn (NE TN. Mnts) Thought these might be better than easy-outs but are not. Broke on first bolt broken in aluminum transmission, drilled it out and reversed bit. Sprayed the bolt and it was tight in there, kept trying for three days a little at a time, finally the bit broke. Wasn't using to much pressure on it either. Might be good for broken screws but not on bolts, even small ones.
